***************
First of all, I want to say a huge “THANK YOU” to everyone who has been along with me for my journey into blogging. All the comments and direct/private messages telling me that you appreciate an article, or the blog in general, is exactly why I am doing it.
As I have said from the beginning, if I help just one mama, then I have done my job. If I help many, then that would be freaking amazing.
I have been working hard to produce stellar content while spreading my reach for almost half a year now, and although it is hard to find the time to write in between momming and adulting, I really love it. I have missed working outside the home ever since I became a stay-at-home Mom, and so tapping into my counselor brain as well as my personal experience as a mama has been so fulfilling for me, and hopefully for you to read about!
I may be still quite small in blogger terms, but as far as I am concerned, I have already been blown away by how much growth Real Life Mama has seen.
(In case you didn’t know this about me already, I am a big fan of celebrating yourself — we don’t do it enough! — so please, indulge me as I do that here right now!)
I have grown my email subscriber list. P.S. (is that okay to put in the middle of a message instead of the end?), if you aren’t on it yet, sign up please!
You can find the email list subscription signup on the sidebar or at the bottom of the page. And in case you are afraid of spammy messages, rest assured that I only send out a monthly email. And to be honest, I don’t think you’d want to miss it… I give updates with recaps on posts during the month as well as any special offers I have to give to you with my partnered affiliate companies!
Also, my Facebook group, Instagram, and Pinterest have gained followers! Go me! I’m at over 500 on IG and on Pinterest I have been as high as 40k monthly viewers!
If any of you know any mama who would be interested in this blog, my Facebook or my Instagram, please LET THEM KNOW! Please spread the word!
As a bonus to me, through RLM, I have made some new friendships and connections, and I have been able to pursue opportunities I didn’t even know existed before. I mean, how cool is that?
I have had three articles posted on Red Tricycle (you can find them here, here, and here), I have been quoted on Cafemom.com, Mom.com, Fatherly.com (click the link), and SheKnows.com, I have been a guest writer on Glitter Guide (see my post here), my daughter is quoted in a book, and I recently did my first ever Facebook Live interview with Theresa Martinez, a fellow Mom blogger and creator of the Facebook group Real Mama Tribe.
In the video below, Theresa and I explored my experience as a new mother, how I felt different from what others were going through, my battle with postpartum anxiety and depression, and what was helpful to me to overcome it all.
(Apologies that it is legit me videoing on my phone of my computer playing the video…I don’t know how to do technology sometimes!)
My sweet husband took the kids to my mom’s house so that I could engage in this chat with a silent background…but I didn’t know they’d be tuning in on his phone at the end! Their support of me and RLM is amazing.

I think it’s so important to let other moms know they are not alone, especially since I felt so isolated during my PPD/PPA. So besides chatting about my experience regularly, I have also written here on RLM about what postpartum depression and anxiety actually looks like, so if you’d like to read more, check it out in the link above!
So basically, in summation: thank you to you, awesome readers. You are what I do this for. You inspire me to write. I hope I am helpful, and at the very least, entertaining. Even if my site is just a timesuck for you, I dig it. Click from topic to topic! I mean, hey, we all need that as moms sometimes, so be my guest!
I hope you can relate to me and to the other moms who share their stories on here (check out this roundup post about The Little Things that Make You Feel Loved, this post for those who are yearning for a baby due to miscarriage/infertility/other reasons, this post which is a PSA about miscarriage, and remember that Real Life Mama now has a guest writer motherhood series that can be found here!).
As always,
